Well, what a weekend! March has come in with some great fish and it has been a while since a weigh in like this. The rocks fished well for those who fished them. Mitch C (not Cronin) getting a mixed bag that any fisherman would be proud of and Rob (the golden arch) Mace, baggin’ out on Snapper (10 fold), Groper and some “small” Tailor – his signature fish which is worth $40 for the biggest one this month. The boaties did well, Snapper for most, Stalgis got some good fish to about 1.5kgs and Captain Malta was out fished again by the Taxman – apparently the taxman had a better “Lure”. Their boat had a great haul of Bonito which were the decider in the end. Although some boats had plenty, some had none, some deckhands blamed some captains, but not all, some had a ball. One captain blamed his daughter’s sea sickness to go in early, much to the anger of his sons – I believe the name rhymes with spring. Sub junior Craig “I love fishin” Davis picked up the deep sea flag with some great Flatties, followed by the Wes with a nice Jacket – looks like a bit of a comp between the juniors coming up. Now the Werri boys, Bruce and Les have an unspoken comp going on with Brucey edging Les into second place this month – some great rivalry for the local fella’s that has been going on for a while – we love it! Rob Mace won the Jack Draper trophy on the day! There was some green fish curry cooked up by Jason and Nikki which would put any $10 dinner meal to shame. This will be cooked up again at the Derek Wishart Comp to help raise money for the club to cover the expenses for the day. Anyone that can help with rice serving, selling or prep work would be greatly appreciated – contact Randall or Jason.
Cheers “the Pringa”
